Fire destroys Crandall Avenue house; loss set at $4,000

YOUNGSTOWN — The two-story vacant house at 820 Crandall Ave. on the North Side was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 12:10 a.m. today.

The fire had been deliberately set, reports show. There were reports of shots fired in the area about 20 minutes before the house went up in flames.

Damage was set at $4,000, a total loss.
