Fired softball coach praised for compassion

Fanfare:

We are writing this letter in response to your May 14 article entitled “Cameron out as Penguins’ softball coach”.

We would echo Mr. Strollo’s comments that “Christy is a great person and off the field her kids have done an unbelievable job in the classroom and within our community.” We would also add that Christy is a fine individual and has made a positive impact on the lives of many college athletes. Christy’s interest and concern for her players on and off the field is a credit to her person and for that we would like to thank her.

We would also like to commend the entire coaching staff of Christy Cameron, Zetta Dumkrieger, Gary Williams and Jenna Lesko for the efforts that they displayed on and off the field.
