LOWELLVILLE — Knoll Run Golf Course, 1421 Struthers-Coitsville Road, will be the setting June 13 for the fifth annual “Drive for the Disabled” benefit golf outing to be sponsored by Golden String Inc., 16 S. Phelps St., Youngstown. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The cost for participation is $65 per golfer, or $260 per foursome, and includes greens fees and cart, a complimentary breakfast, lunch, dinner, beverages and prizes.
Proceeds from the outing will be used to provide recreation and socialization activities for adults and children in the Mahoning Valley area who have multiple disabilities. A portion of the funds will be used for the renovation of Farmer Casey’s Ranch, a new day habilitative facility on 52 acres located in Coitsville. The project will include building a handicap-accessible fishing deck and ramp at the seven-acre lake on the property and adding an addition to the farmhouse that will provide room for handicap-accessible bathrooms and education and recreation rooms.
