Davis anniversary to be celebrated at Hubbard church

X HUBBARD — An open house reception will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. June 8 at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Hall Ave., to honor the Rev. Dr. Jim and Shirley Davis of Englewood, Fla., former area residents, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Davis is a former pastor of churches in Boardman and Columbiana and in Farrell, Meadville and Clearfield, Pa. He and his wife moved to Florida about 10 years ago and will be visiting in the Valley for two weeks.

The couple were united in marriage May 24, 1958, at Memorial Presbyterian Church on Wick Avenue, Youngstown.

The couple’s children and their spouses are the Rev. Jim and Nancy Davis of Wauchula, Fla.; Robert Davis of Orange Springs, Fla.; and Richard and Kathy Davis of Corona, Calif. Completing the family are five grandchildren.
