This week: The Hartford native qualified in the sixth position for the NASCAR Sprint Showdown tonight at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. Blaney averaged just under 184 mph on the 11‚Ñ2-mile long oval.

Tonight: NASCAR’s premier series takes a week off from points racing, but that doesn’t mean the stakes aren’t high. They’re congregated at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the In October’s (race), Blaney had a season-best sixth-place finish here last October in the Bank of America 500.
