Riding With … Dave Blaney

Last week: The Hartford native turned in his best finish of the 2008 season with a ninth place at the Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Speedway. He’s moved into 35th place in the driver standings. More importantly, Bill Davis Racing has moved into the top 35 in owner standings, meaning Blaney doesn’t have to rely solely on his qualifying speed to get into each week’s race.

This week: NASCAR’s premier series takes a week off from points racing, but that doesn’t mean the stakes aren’t high. They’re congregated at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the In October’s (race), Blaney had a season-best sixth-place finish here last October in the Bank of America 500.
