A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Girard and Liberty:
HUBBARD
May 9
Theft: A Bedford Road woman discovered a prescription medication missing from her purse while at a North Main Street store.
May 10
Arrest: A Hubbard man at the Trumbull County Jail was wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear for a hearing on two counts of passing bad checks.
May 11
Arrest: Officers picked up a 51-year-old woman on Youngstown-Hubbard Road. She was accused of failing to appear for arraignment on a charge of obstructing police.
Theft: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man charged with failing to show for a pretrial hearing on a theft count.
May 12
Breaking and entering: Police got a report of a door ajar at a vacant residence in the 100 block of South Main Street and concluded that copper had apparently been removed.
GIRARD
May 12
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Rock Shop Entertainment, 15 E. Liberty St., through a rear window and took three microphones, two speakers and a bass amplifier.
Theft: Police arrested a 41-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after $52 worth of meat products was stolen from Santisi’s IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St.
Criminal mischief: A worker with The Laundry Basket, 41 W. Broadway Ave., realized someone had removed a ceiling tile above a restroom and apparently climbed into the ceiling.
Theft: A Masury man in the 1100 block of South State Street noticed his truck’s validation sticker missing.
Theft/criminal damaging: Authorities arrested a Girard girl, 15, and two Niles boys, 15 and 17, on felony theft charges after responding to a possible burglary at a Mosier Road home and being told numerous Sony PlayStation 2 games, 250 to 300 DVDs and jewelry were among the items stolen. Two of the teens also faced criminal-damaging charges; a glass door and numerous figurines were smashed.
May 13
Burglary: A North State Street man reported a break-in at his apartment. Stolen were a Sony PlayStation 2 game system, four PlayStation games and prescription medication.
LIBERTY
May 8
Theft: A Hubbard man reported the theft of two bottles of medications and four packs of cigarettes from his car while at a Belmont Avenue store.
Burglary: A Norwich Drive woman saw that someone cut a screen to enter her enclosed porch, though the person was unable to get into the residence.
Assault: A 46-year-old Lowellville man was charged after police responded to an Orchard Avenue apartment regarding an unwanted person. A woman at the home alleged the man tossed a teacup and struck her in the face during an argument, causing redness in the affected area.
May 9
Aggravated menacing: A charge was pending against a 16-year-old girl after an official with Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, alleged she threatened to kill him after the man intervened during a confrontation in a hallway between the teen and another student.
Recovered property: A Murray Hill Drive man found a $50, 24-inch mountain bike in his backyard and turned it over to police.
Arrest: Authorities picked up a North Gate Road woman, 32, at her home. She was wanted on charges of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct.
Arson: A Santa Monica Drive man reported someone set fire to a pile of leaves and grass in his yard, though no serious damage occurred.
Criminal damaging: A Liberty High School student saw that someone used a key to damage the finish on her vehicle’s passenger and driver’s sides. Damage was estimated at $1,800.
Aggravated menacing: A North Gate Road woman alleged a Struthers man, 25, called her about 125 times and on a few occasions threatened to kill her and beat up the accuser’s family members.
Drugs: Officers investigated suspicious people in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive, where they took into custody two Youngstown men, 21 and 23. One man was wanted on two felony and two misdemeanor warrants; the other man was given a summons on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
May 10
Theft/vandalism: An employee with Garami Development Ltd., 1920 Church Hill Road, found a shattered window on a company-owned van. Among the items removed from the vehicle were an air compressor, an electric drill and a global positioning system device, for a loss of $1,902.
May 11
Stolen property: Police checked the welfare of two people in the 3200 block of Belmont Avenue and determined their vehicle had been stolen in Youngstown. The Youngstown men, 20 and 21, were charged with receiving stolen property.
May 12
Burglary: A woman reported someone forcibly entered her Hadley Avenue apartment before taking a Sony PlayStation 2 game system, 100 DVDs, a 19-inch TV and several other items. The loss came to $3,074.
May 13
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man found out someone used his debit card to make six charges totaling $92.18 from a Belmont Avenue business.
