New direction for office
On Thursday, Tom Winters, first assistant attorney general, issued a statement to employees of the attorney general’s office. He is running the office until the governor names a replacement. Among the office’s immediate priorities:
“Support and cooperate with the ongoing investigations.”
“Observe proper decorum at all times.”
“Continue to do the fine legal work that the public, the courts and the legal profession have come to expect from the office.”
“Maintain compliance with our zero-tolerance policy on harassment and hostile work environment, including training for both managers and employees.”
“The office will undertake a complete and thorough review of the management structure, controls and capabilities of the current managers.”
