McDonald sweeps ITCL Tier Two meet
BERLIN CENTER — The McDonald High boys and girls teams captured Wednesday’s Inter-Tri-County Tier Two championships at Western Reserve High School.
The McDonald boys scored 150 points, while Western Reserve placed second with 85. Wellsville was third with 811‚Ñ2.
Frank Natoli, Thomas Holland, Lance Ronghi and Josh LaPolla got McDonald off and running in winning the 4x800 relay in 8 minutes, 57.79 seconds.
Nick Cupan, Corey Lunn, Steve Bada and Devon Colburn of McDonald took first place in the 4x100 relay (45.66).
Drew Banyon, Steve Bada, Colburn and Ron Johnson of McDonald took the 4x200 relay (1:34.3) and McDonald’s Banyon, Lunn, Holland and Colburn placed first in the 4x400 relay (3:33.7).
McDonald’s girls scored 163 points, followed by Lowellville with 142, Western Reserve with 74 and Jackson-Milton with 59.
Lindsay Repp of McDonald took first place in the 100 (13-2) and the 200 (27.4). She also anchored the 4x100 relay to victory (56.42). Other members of the team were Sofia Accordino, Joh’Vonnie Mosley and Delaney Fowler.
Lowellville finished second with 142 points.
Samantha Dunlap, Marissa Rose, Accordino and Fowler of McDonald won the 4x200 relay (1:57.6).
Callie Garland, Michaela Lepor, Jamie Stellmar and Aubrey Holland of McDonald took first place in the 4x800 relay (8:57.7).

Samantha Hamilton of Jackson-Milton won the 1600 (5:23.6) and the 3200 (12:08.1).

ANDOVER — Kayla Ellks of Lordstown took first place in the 100 meters (13.2 seconds), the 400 (66.2) the 200 (27.8) and the long jump (14 feet, 11 inches).
Ellks led the Red Devils girls to the Northeastern Athletic Conference track and field title with 136 points at Pymatuning Valley High School.
Maplewood finished second with 112. Tara Knight, Kayleigh Hartman, Michele Sloan and Jordan Moxley of the Rockets set a record in the 4x100 relay (53.8).
Pymatuning Valley won the boys crown with 149 points. Lordstown finished second with 94.
Ryan Pal of Lordstown set a record in winning the high jump (6-0). He also won the 110 hurdles (15.4) and 300 hurdles (48.2).
Tykie Theofilos of the Red Devils set record (52.0) in winning the 400.
Landon Hamilton of Py Valley took first place in the 1600 (4:37.1) and the 3200 (10:08). Brandon Barrett of Py Valley set a record (10.8) in winning the 100 and he also took the 200 (23.2).
Barrett, Tom Erwin, Steve Savel and Dustin Romanowski set a record in winning the 4x100 relay (46.2). Nate Bohach, Seth Paddock, Brent Jackson amd Mike Davis also tied the 4x100 relay record (42.6)
