Howland arson fire causes $45k damage to commercial building


HOWLAND — A fire at 2207 Larchmont Ave. at 3:50 a.m. today was deliberately set, the fire department said. No injuries were reported.

The fire was first dispatched to Warren, and when firefighters arrived they determined the commercial structure to be in Howland’s jurisdiction and Howland firefighters also responded. Firefighters from Warren and Howland were assisted by firefighters from Bazetta. Damage was set at $45,000.
