Dahlia Society plans sale at Davis Center

YOUNGSTOWN — The public will be able to purchase garden-ready dahlia plants, provided by local prize-winning growers, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday during an annual dahlia plant sale to be sponsored by Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks.

Dahlia plants in a wide variety of colors and forms will be sold at the event, and members of the society will be on hand to help the public with their selections.

The society sponsors and cultivates the Dahlia Trial Garden, north of the Davis Center, where visitors can view the display of colorful dahlias from late summer until the first frost.
