May 5

Menacing: Employees of a West McKinley Way business told police an irate customer made threats, one of which suggested he would go home to harm his wife.

May 8

Drugs: A man, 27, and a 32-year-old woman were arrested at a Shadyside Drive residence on drug-related charges. The man faced two felony counts of drug abuse and one misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs; the woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A 40-year-old Boardman man was charged after an employee of Sears in the Southern Park Mall alleged a co-worker activated $350 worth of gift cards without authorization and used them to buy merchandise.

Theft: A man in the 100 block of Melrose Avenue discovered his wallet missing from his car.

Theft: A Quail Court man reported the theft of a $150 satellite radio, a pair of sunglasses, medications, a set of handcuffs and $25 from his vehicle.

Theft: A worker with Rick Bayus Motors, 5206 Youngstown-Poland Road, reported four tires and rims valued at a total of $800 stolen off a vehicle.

Theft: A Boardman woman’s wallet was taken as she patronized a South Avenue restaurant.

Bad check: Springfield Township police handed a 47-year-old New Springfield man to Boardman authorities. He was wanted on a felony charge of passing a bad check after having been accused of writing a $7,600 check, returned for insufficient funds, to a Market Street car dealership.

Theft: A woman in the 5300 block of Southern Boulevard noticed two tire rods missing from her car.

Domestic violence: A 20-year-old Boardman man was charged after his former girlfriend alleged the man grabbed her by the neck in a vehicle and slammed her face into the steering wheel during an argument.

Assault: A Shields Road boy had scratches on his chest and a bump on his head after having been assaulted in a yard in the 80 block of Lemans Drive.

Auto theft: A Poland man reported the theft of his 1994 Pontiac in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Assault: A Southwoods Drive man reported being thrown to the ground and punched several times in the head during an argument.

Theft: A 33-year-old Titusville, Pa., woman was charged, accused in the theft of $47.50 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A Southern Boulevard man discovered two bicycles missing from his front porch.

Theft: A Youngstown woman found out a $3,000 engagement ring was stolen from her while she was at a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Criminal damaging: An employee with Boardman Sparkle Market, 6315 Market St., found two damaged padlocks.

Arrest: While responding to a suspicious person near a Market Street school, officers took into custody a Youngstown woman, 52, upon learning she was wanted on a warrant charging her with larceny.

Theft: Two warehouse scanners and three scanner attachments were stolen from Kaleel Bros., 761 Bev Road.

Theft: A worker for Eastern Tool Machine, 7887 Southern Blvd., reported 27 pieces of steel stolen from behind the business. The loss was estimated at $4,284.

Arrest: Police responded to a report of a suspicious truck at an Orlo Lane home, where they arrested a 33-year-old man wanted on a felony probation-violation charge.

Arrests: Authorities got a report of two men fleeing the scene of an accident near Sheridan Road and later arrested the Youngstown men, 26 and 30, both of whom were wanted on warrants.

Criminal damaging: A Forest Ridge Drive man reported damage to five windows, part of a fence and a door to a shed. Damage came to $325.

Theft: A Cathy Ann Drive man reported the theft of his daughter’s $120 bicycle.

May 10

Robbery: An employee of Pizza Hut, 8535 South Ave., told police two gunmen wearing dark stocking caps entered through a rear door, pushed him to the floor and demanded money before stealing his vehicle. It was unknown if any money was taken, though the car was recovered.

Truck theft: A Salem woman’s 1989 Chevrolet truck was stolen while she was at a South Avenue business.

Thefts: A Boardman woman, 21, faced a charge. She was accused of taking $144.50 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. In a separate theft, an Austintown girl, 14, and a 16-year-old New Springfield girl were charged after $120.50 worth of undergarments was stolen from the store.

Drugs: While checking the welfare of a woman in the 1000 block of Boardman-Poland Road, police charged a 29-year-old Warren woman with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A Youngstown girl, 14, was charged after a $75 pair of shoes was stolen from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal damaging: A Mapleridge Drive man reported damage to a lamppost and a light.

Domestic violence: Authorities took into custody a 23-year-old Southwoods Drive man after a woman alleged her boyfriend tossed her onto a bed and later, while arguing in a vehicle, threw a rearview mirror and struck her leg. The man also was wanted on three warrants charging him with probation violations.

Drugs: While responding to a loud-music complaint at a Southern Boulevard home, officers arrested a Boardman man, 54, on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Theft: Police charged a 17-year-old Youngstown girl after a pair of shoes and five cosmetics were stolen from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 26-year-old man at his Lemans Drive apartment on warrants charging him with menacing, theft, possession of drugs and failure to appear in court on a traffic charge.

May 11

Burglary: Someone broke into a vacant duplex in the 5000 block of West Boulevard through a rear door, though it appeared nothing was taken.

Theft: Two Boardman girls, 16 and 17, were charged after nine articles of clothing were stolen from Wal-Mart.

Citation: A Boardman man, 28, was cited after officers responded to a report of someone pounding on the drive-through door at a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant. The man was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Domestic violence: A 24-year-old Cook Avenue man was taken into custody at his residence and charged after a woman reported being struck in the face. She had redness in the affected area.

Recovered property: Authorities found a stolen 1991 Pontiac Grand Am in the 7300 block of Market Street.
