YSU will not renew contract of softball coach

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State will not renew the contract of softball coach Christy Cameron, following the Penguins’ 12-37 finish this season.

Cameron, who was 164-271-1 in nine seasons at YSU, led the Penguins to the 2006 Horizon League tournament championship and berth into the NCAA tournament. But Youngstown State finished 16-22 in 2007 and this season finished with at least 30 losses for the fifth time in Cameron’s tenure.
