Pavlik will visit fundraiser to help young boxers

BOARDMAN — Kelly Pavlik, along with Team Pavlik, will honor the memory of his friend, Johnny Swanson, a two-time Golden Gloves boxing champ, at a memorial fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. July 5 at St. Luke Hall, 5235 South Ave.

The evening will include dinner, a Chinese raffle, a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction.

Besides Pavlik, guests will include former boxing champs Harry Arroyo, Greg “The Flea” Richardson and Jeff Lampkin.

Swanson’s mother, Patricia Swanson, wants to keep alive her son’s dream of helping young boxers. She asks for the donation of an item for the auction or raffle, or the placing of an ad in the program. Proceeds will go to the Southside Boxing Club and be awarded to deserving young boxers.
