CANFIELD

May 1

Crack cocaine: Police arrested a 56-year-old Austintown man on charges of drug abuse after they found 10 rocks of suspected crack cocaine on him on Lisbon Street near the railroad crossing.

May 4

Drug abuse: Police charged a 27-year-old Canfield man with drug abuse at North Broad Street and Village Boulevard after they found a suspected marijuana cigarette.

May 5

Criminal damaging: A woman reported a house ransacked and items inside damaged in the 200 block of Chapel Lane. The house is up for sale and unoccupied.

May 6

Telecommunications harassment: A man who resides in the 90 block of Skyline Avenue reported receiving eight phone calls over the past week and a half telling him he had won $1 million.

Drug arrest: A 17-year-old New Springfield girl was arrested on charges of delinquency by way of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and a 17-year-old New Middletown girl was cited for underage possession of tobacco at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 1600 N. Palmyra Road.

May 7

Stolen car: A 1990 Pontiac was stolen from a multifamily dwelling parking lot on Fairground Boulevard.

ID fraud: A resident of the 100 block of Lisbon Street reported to police that $427.22 was withdrawn from his checking account at Farmer’s National Bank to pay a Columbia Gas bill at a residence on Second Avenue in Columbus. The bank reimbursed him.

May 5

Telephone harassment: At a home in the 4000 block of Stark Drive.

Disrupting public services: AT T phone lines were cut at Lloyd Elementary School, 5705 Norquest Boulevard.

Theft: A personal check was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: The letter “S” was stolen from an Arby’s sign and an attempt was made to remove the letter “R” at Arby’s, 4440 Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: Entry was gained to a fenced-in area and batteries were stolen from vehicles and equipment at Argo Construction, 5752 W. Webb Road.

Aggravated menacing: A 13-year-old pupil received a threatening note at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made on an account at a home in the 2000 block of Breezewood Drive.

Theft: A 13-year-old boy was apprehended stealing at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and was released to his mother.

Menacing: A woman was threatened by a neighbor at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West Apartments.

May 6

Breaking and entering: A window was broken out and some product was possibly taken at Smoker Friendly, 1643 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was arrested for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia at Walgreen’s, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Attempted theft: A window was smashed and the dashboard damaged on a vehicle at Country Inn Suites, 5570 Interstate Boulevard.

Theft: Clothing was stolen at Dots, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Auto theft: A 1991 Chevrolet van was stolen from Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Aggravated menacing: Three students at Casal Aveda Institute, 6000 Mahoning Ave., reported being menaced.

Fraud: A life insurance check for $5,687.81 was cashed fraudulently at a home in the 4000 block of Woodridge Drive.

Burglary: Copper pipe was stolen from Loan Servicing, 3160 S. Meridian Road.

Fraud: A credit card account was opened and the victim’s ex-wife is a suspect at a home in the 100 block of South Raccoon Road.

Menacing: Telephone threats were made at a home in the 3000 block of Heritage Drive.

May 7

Theft: Items were obtained using the victim’s check debit card over the Internet at a home on Rita Avenue.

Stolen or lost property: A woman’s diamond ring was reported lost or stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Timber Lane.

Theft: Fuel worth $45.57 was taken at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: There were no signs of forced entry at an apartment in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A window was damaged at a home in the 90 block of South Raccoon Road.

Attempted burglary: A door lock was damaged at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Aggravated menacing: A victim was threatened by an ex-girlfriend at home in the 90 block of Maple Avenue.

May 8

Theft: A window was broken out of a vehicle and an AM-FM radio and CD player were stolen in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Telephone harassment: Harassing phone calls were received at a home in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: A stop sign was painted at Clearfield Drive and Mulberry Run.

Theft: Unauthorized check card services were reported at Auto Zone, 5430 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A Playstation was reported stolen from an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West Apartments.

May 9

Auto theft: A 1999 Pontiac was stolen from a garage in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive. The vehicle was found burned on Lanterman Road.

Theft: One wheel was stolen from a vehicle at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto at FYDA, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Unauthorized charges were made to a Visa card totaling $178.95 at a home in the 5000 block of South Saratoga Ave.

Lost or stolen wallet: A black leather wallet was reported lost or stolen at Allied Waste, 450 Thatcher Lane.

Criminal damage: Vehicles were painted with graffiti at apartments in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Fraud: An Internet transaction using a fake money order was reported at Chase Bank, 4243 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A Youngstown woman was issued a summons and charged with theft at Dollar General, 1735 S. Raccoon Road, along with charges of possession of drug paraphernalia including: a syringe, crack pipe, push rod and other drug paraphernalia.

Burglary: Drugs were taken from an apartment in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana at One Eyed Willie’s, 255 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown woman was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at Mahoning Avenue and Four Mile Run Road.

May 10

Falsification: A woman used her sister’s information at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A woman was arrested for stealing scrap but her husband got away at Card Transportation Inc., 80 Victoria Road.

Burglary: A vacant residence was burglarized in the 100 block of South Roanoke Ave. Tools were taken.

Telephone harassment: At an apartment in the 1000 block of Paisley Street.

Theft: A 2000 Kawasaki All-terrain vehicle with a silver rack from a home in the 2000 block of North Redgate Lane.

Disorderly conduct: A female was intoxicated and charged with disorderly conduct at Woodland Trace and New Road. She was later released to her father.

May 11

Theft: A female stole merchandise at Wal-Mart and was arrested.

Criminal mischief: A male suspect put a sign in his ex-girlfriend’s yard in the 200 block of Idlewood Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia and being disorderly while intoxicated at Burkey Road and Orkney Street.

Felonious assault: An employee of Jeswald Towing, 6528 Mahoning Ave., was the victim in an altercation with a truck driver.
