Drop & Go event in Boardman to help charities
BOARDMAN — Residents can drop off their unwanted but still usable household items to benefit area charities.
A Drop & Go event is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the township government center, Market Street. If the weather is bad, the event will be inside road department garage.
Habitat for Humanity, ReStore, Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley and Goodwill will use donations to help people in need. Baby items, beds, bedding, canned goods, usable and working household items that are nonhazardous, luggage, kitchen items and clothing and shoes are among the items that will be accepted.
Auto parts, bathtubs, computers, electronics, chemicals, scrap metal, pianos and organs, solvents, paint, tires, gas cans, hazardous items, hospital, water and sofa beds; hot water tanks, trash and junk will not be accepted.
The event is sponsored by Youngstown State University’s re:CREATE, township trustees, Mahoning County Green Team, Belleria Pizza and Sam’s Club.
