Brookfield safety forces plan memorial service

BROOKFIELD —Township firefighters, auxiliary members and police officers invite the public to their annual memorial service honoring their deceased members at 7 p.m. May 20 at the fire hall, 774 state Route 7 North.

Refreshments will follow the service.

Child clinic rescheduled

GIRARD — The Girard health department has rescheduled a children’s immunization clinic from Wednesday to May 21.

The clinic will still be at 11 a.m. at the health department, located in the city building.

Dr. James Enyeart, medical director, is conducting the free immunizations for Girard city children. Any child under age 18 should have a parent or guardian present with a copy of the child’s immunization record.

Parents interested in bringing their child to the clinic should call the health department at (330) 545-6048 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to pre-register.

Girl’s bake sale to fight childhood hunger

SALEM — Seven-year-old Hannah Bradley will have a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 1171 E. State St. as part of Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale, a national campaign that mobilizes Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities.

Hannah will be selling homemade cookies, brownies and cupcakes along with fresh lemonade, apple cider and coffee during the yard and sidewalk sale.
