SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 8273 High St. N.E., Warren, will host a public Mother’s Day luncheon of chicken cordon bleu, scalloped potatoes and dessert at noon Tuesday. The cost is $3, and reservations are required. The center will also host a dinner dance Wednesday. The event is open to the public, and entertainment will be by the Al Hreno Band. The 6 p.m. dinner will be followed by dancing from 6:30 to 9:30. The cost is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s Needlepoint Club from 9 to 11 a.m., Cancer Support Group from 10 to 11, OSU Extension Nutrition Program Series from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting and exercise at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon and digital club at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., exercise at noon and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Also planned: Tuesday, Stan Hywet bus trip; Thursday, Boardman Fun Day; and Friday, Sebring Fun Day. The center’s licensed social worker can answer questions on Social Security issues, Golden Buckeye, HEAP, Medicare Part D, AT&T applications and other programs you may need assistance with, at no charge.
