Family honors Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Baker on their 60th wedding anniversary


X HUBBARD — Family members gathered at The Gentry on April 20 to honor Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Baker, 231 Princeton Ave., who were observing the 60th anniversary of their wedding.

Arrangements for the festivities were made by the couple’s children and their spouses, Richard Baker, Charlotte and Jim Lanz, and Michael and Barbara Baker, all of Hubbard; Nance and Bill Hoza of Columbus; Paula and Michael Lynch of Marysville; Jennifer and Mark Skowron of Austintown; Karen and Dan Carioti of Cortland; Lisa and David Hill of Cuyahoga Falls; and Lori and Chuck Hillman of Boardman. Completing the family circle are 20 grandchildren.

Mr. Baker served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and during the Korean War. He was a school bus driver for the Hubbard School System for 17 years and a machinist with Republic Rubber, Division of Aeroquip, in Youngstown for 37 years. He retired in 1989 from Sawhill Tubular. His wife is a homemaker.

The Bakers are members of St. Patrick Church, where she belongs to the Disciples of Mary.
