Family dinner party in observance of Oravitz 60th


X STRUTHERS — Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Oravitz, 444 Elm St., were honored May 3 during a family dinner party at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Arrangements for the festivity were made by the couple’s children and their spouses, Richard and Susan Oravitz of Canfield, Joe and Sherry Oravitz of Poland and John Oravitz of Struthers.

The couple were united in marriage May 1, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Oravitz, the former Anna Mae Mattie, is a homemaker and a member of the altar guild at the church and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 213 Auxiliary.

Mr. Oravitz retired in 1987 after being employed 41 years as a driver salesman for R.L. Lipton Distributing Co. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 213.
