Crum’s RBI in 10th gives Fitch 2-1 win

CANTON — Nick Crum’s 10th-inning double sent home Andrew Warren with the winning run Saturday as the Fitch High baseball team defeated Canton GlenOak, 2-1.

Jim Kinnick pitched seven innings, striking out six and walking two. His two hits included a double for the Falcons (10-7, 7-3 Federal League).

Crum and J.D. Kubacki also had two hits. Winning pitcher Mike Oleynch (2-2) struck out the side looking in the eighth and ninth innings and did not allow a hit in the three innings he pitched.

For GlenOak (5-16, 2-8), Tommy Monnot doubled.

Willoughby South 10-1, Poland 5-4

STRUTHERS — In the Bulldogs’ loss, Trent Vallinger and Matt Pitzulo had two hits each.

In Poland’s win, Casey Thompson (1-1) scattered three hits over five innings. Mark Turnbull had two hits and drove in a run.

Salem 4-1, West Branch 2-6

SALEM — Zac O’Brien doubled and scored in the Quakers’ win. Winning pitcher Brandon Holland (2-1) allowed three hits, struck out two and walked one.

Evan Campbell hit a RBI triple for the Warriors.

In West Branch’s win, Campbell homered and Steve McNeely doubled.

O’Brien, Dan Fortney, David Wright and Shane Kibler had Salem’s hits.

Sebring 4, Lisbon 3

LISBON — Zachary Tieche’s RBI single in the seventh ining brought home Travis Irwin with the winning run for the Trojans.

Devin Weekly doubled, Taylor Whitlatch earned the pitching victory and Allen Jurica picked up a save for Sebring.

For the Blue Devils (5-15), Lucas Rambo had three hits and Russell McCullough two. One of Rambo’s was a double.
