MCDONALD COUNCIL Agenda

Meeting recently, village officials handled these matters:

Passed a resolution to re-employ Atty. William M. Roux as solicitor with a one-year contract, effective July 1. Roux, who has served since June 1986, will be paid $33,377 annually.

Heard about a curbside spring cleanup, set for May 17. Residents will have the opportunity to get rid of extra waste but need to have the items at the curb the day before, noted Thomas Domitrovich, village administrator. Anyone with questions regarding acceptable items for pickup should call the administration building at (330) 530-5472.

Received an update about applying for a portion of a federal Safe Routes to School grant. Councilman Richard Harvey explained that additional data will be in an application officials plan to resubmit to the Ohio Department of Transportation, which is disbursing the funds. The village is applying for about $250,000 that will go toward building sidewalks on busy roads to make it safer for pupils to walk to and from McDonald High and Roosevelt Elementary schools.

Praised those who participated in the village’s annual Spring Cleanup Day on April 26. Roughly 50 people, including members of Cub Scout Pack 83 of Mineral Ridge, collected litter, planted flowers, laid mulch and performed other related duties.
