Hubbard, WGH win Trumbull titles

CORTLAND — Jermaine Collins took first place in the 100 hurdles (14.5 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (39.3), leading Hubbard High School to the girls championship with 84 points in the Trumbull County track and field meet Thursday at Lakeview High School. Mineral Ridge finished second with 71.
DeAvery Williamson won the 100 meters (11 seconds) and the 200 (22.2). He also anchored the winning 4x200 relay (1:30.9) as Warren Harding defended its boys title with 85 points. McDonald placed second with 81.
Audrey Maheu of Warren JFK set a record in the 800 (2:16.7). Kaicee Kubicina of Newton Falls took first place in the shot put (39 feet, 5 inches and the discus (130-9).
Nicole Honsaker of Mineral Ridge won the 100 hurdles (15.4), the 300 hurdles (45.4) and the long jump (16-2 1/2 ).
Hubbard’s Katie Zitnik, Breanna Bridges, Michele Starkey and Katoria Carter set a record in the 4x400 relay (4:05.83).
Jermaine Collins of Hubbard won the 110 high hurdles (14.5), Ben Moody of Lakeview (14.7) was second and Marvin Logan of Warren Harding (14.9) was third. Collins also won the 300 hurdles (39.3) .
Thomas Holland of McDonald won the 1600 (4:30.9) and the 800 (1:58.2).
