Volunteers recognized for saving seniors money

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., is recognizing the AARP tax preparers who donated more than 120 hours of their time to help seniors of Mahoning County complete their 2007 Income Tax Returns.

Nearly 1,000 tax returns were completed at no charge to seniors of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Among those volunteers were Steve Phillips, Lee Loutzenhiser, Esther Loutzenhiser, Frank Dalissandro, Angie Waschak, Georgeann Burkey, Mike McDounough, Carol Dearing, Carolyn Payne, Harry Kornbau, Marjorie Miller, Evelyn Velardo, Rebecca Liu, Sarah Jean Hoffman, Margaret Maloney and Dan McMillen.
