Orwell woman dies in one-car accident

FOWLER — The Ohio State Highway Patrol said an Orwell woman was killed in a one-car accident on state Route 193 in Fowler Township.

Troopers said Christi R. Novicki, 21, was driving north on Route 193 around 6 p.m. Monday when her car ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch. It struck a drainage culvert and then a utility pole, troopers said.

Novicki was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing an automatic shoulder safety belt but not the manual lap belt, troopers said.

A passenger, Heather R. Hile-man, 21, also of Orwell, was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
