Two men hurt in Brookfield Township crash
BROOKFIELD — Two men were injured, one seriously, in a two-car crash today near the Ohio-Pennsylvania line on U.S. Route 62.
The driver of one of the cars, Fred Davis, 74, of Masury, remains in critical condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center. The other driver, Brian Hassel, 49, of Sharon, Pa., was released after treatment at Sharon Regional Health System.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Davis was driving his car eastbound on Route 62 shortly before 8 a.m. He attempted to make a left turn onto Roberts Street and came into the path of Hassel’s westbound car. No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation, the patrol said.
