Family Fun Nights begin Saturday at Boardman park
BOARDMAN — Boardman Township Park’s family fun nights begin this weekend with a performance by Ballet Western Reserve and a song by a former American Idol hopeful.
Family nights are scheduled monthly through August. Events are at the Maag Theatre and include Jocko the Clown, hayrides and an Armstrong tent with goodies.
Each night will also consist of music and movie entertainment. All movies start at dark following the conclusion of the concert.
Saturday’s show begins at 6 p.m. with a dance performance by Ballet Western Reserve that includes different eras of dance traditions.
Sarah Burgess, an East Palestine High School graduate who appeared on American Idol Season 6 performs following the dance presentation.
Burgess was one of the 173 out of 120,000 people awarded the golden ticket to go to Hollywood to perform. Burgess was eliminated in the first round of competition in Hollywood.
Burgess’s performance will be followed by the Disney movie, “High School Musical II.” Concessions will be available and attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs.
