Rich’s Boys Kelley-Robb champion


Rich’s Boys beat Francis’ Pro Shop for the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home crown at Bell-Wick, although Francis Zitnik led Francis’ Pro Shop with 853.

Rich’s Boys rolled 3158 to Francis’ 3082.

In the divisional eliminations, Francis’ Pro Shop (3454) won the Kelley Div. over Markulich Ins. (3377), Joey’s Team (3374) and Bubba’s Buddies (3342).

Joe Beeson Jr.’s 300-771 led the way.

Rich’s Boys rolled 3168 to beat Michael’s Bar (3093), Mulholland (2776) and Kelley-Robb (2615).

Ray Grow’s 831 led Belchyk/Ferkula Classic bowlers at Holiday, while Tom Parker had 300 in Shooting Gallery.

Dan Kalitich had an 810 set in Mixed Bankers at Holiday on April 6. Kalitich’s final game was 297.

Todd Linville’s 300, followed by games of 234 and 265, led to a 799 in Tri-County Classic April 8.

A 257 game spiced Pattie Hahn’s 723 in Pinettes at Holiday April 10. Longtime league bowler and current secretary Marie Moretti believes the set is an all-time high.

It’s also a personal best for Hahn, who carries a 184 average.

Hahn’s other games were 253 and 213.

In the championship, however, Hahn’s Basket Cases team lost by a pin to the Witches in a 10th-frame tiebreaker after the teams split four points.

On the last night of 2007-08, Kathy Jones had Lucky Ladies’ season highs of 278-741 at Holiday April 17.

It was the 6:30 p.m. league’s lone 700 this season.

N.E. Colla & Son Barber Shop was Lucky Ladies’ first-half winner that also beat second-half winner Holiday Bowl for the title.

Patricia Clinkscales bowled six 600 sets this season in TNBA Church, her latest a 619 on April 4.

Clinkscales’ other five were: 611, 611, 635, 606 and 627. Clinkscales was averaging 185. Her high game was 247.

Primerica beat Molly Maid for the Thursday Night Gadabouts championship at Bell-Wick.

High average for the year was Marsha Beasley. Most improved was Sally Erb (plus 15). High actual set and game was Full Circle Florist.

The Gadabouts, a fun league with no handicap limit, is looking for bowlers for next season.

Balkan Home Improvement won Austintown Suburban’s last quarter at Wedgewood.

Youngstown Fire & Safety won both halves to reign as champs in Camelot Queens.

The Raiders, led by Al Torres’ 676, beat Tampa, 3-2, led by Bill Sonnenliter’s 575, in a 9th- and 10th-frame tiebreaker, in the Friday Seniors roll-off at Holiday on April 18.

Both Torres and Sonnenliter are the captains of their respective teams.

Mulholland Roofing defeated Palumbo & Associates for the Doughton Businessmen championship at Bell-Wick.

Mulholland members were: John Doughton Jr., Scott Trigg, Al Cattoi, Pat Fraser, Albert Davis, Jim Musser, Dave Miller and Brian Wilson.

Wilson, a sergeant first class reservist in the Army, is currently deployed with his unit in Kuwait before heading to Iraq for a year.

Animals won Golden Gals’ second half at Wedgewood, where the Monte Carlos of Carol Morrison, June Stas, Sara Bayless and Toni Krut won Try Hards’ second half.

Susan Mineo’s 731 was the top three-game set and her 931 led all Wedgewood Ladies Trio bowlers on April 22.

Along with Su Bachinger and Michele Mineo. Susan Mineo was also on the Mamonis & O’Malley Pro Shop team that won WLT’s second half.
