Garden Forum announces winners of standard flower show

YOUNGSTOWN — The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area held a standard spring flower show April 19 and 20 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks.

After judging by Pearl Marlos, Laura Miller, Dorothy Haddox, Esther Bertch, Evelyn Resek, Millie Campean and Anne Ellis, winners in various categories were announced.

Recipients of blue ribbons in the horticulture division were:

UMary Schall and Rae Jones, Austintown Garden Club.

URose Marie Roth, Daphne.

UMarlos, Gleaners.

UBeverly Patrick and Miller, Ikebana.

UDianna Mullins, Martha Murphy and Shelia Bowman, Nature Lovers.

UHaddox, Our Lady of Fatima.

UAlison Spencer and Beth Haddle, public.

UStan and Linda Veletich, Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society.

Special awards in horticulture went to Murphy, Haddox and Haddle.

In the design category, blue ribbon winners were:

UCampean and Marlos, Gleaners.

UColleen Smith, Ikebana.

UJoyce Dunbar, Grand Cayman.

UEllis, Beverly Italiano and Mullins, Nature Lovers.

UResek, Mahoning.

A special award in the design category was presented to Marlos.
