ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS

Attorney general’s office

Just because an internal investigation by the Ohio attorney general’s office into sexual harassment charges is over doesn’t mean the case is closed. Other agencies conducting investigations are:

The federal Equal Employment Opportunity agency. Cindy Stankoski and Vanessa Stout, the two women who filed the sexual harassment complaint against their former boss, Anthony Gutierrez, asked the federal EEO to investigate. The two are also considering lawsuits. Gutierrez was fired Friday as the office’s general services director.

Attorney General Marc Dann and Gov. Ted Strickland have called for an outside independent investigation into the internal investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating claims that Gutierrez failed to report damage to at least three state vehicles and drove them while drunk. It’s also looking at allegations from Stankoski that her office desk was ransacked and that she received a harassing telephone call.

Security staff at the Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus, where the attorney general’s office is located, is also investigating the Stankoski allegations.

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services is conducting a review of the policies and procedures of the general services department.

The Ohio Ethics Commission will investigate claims that Gutierrez improperly used state vehicles.
