“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m. Sunday, WFMJ Channel 21; and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Time Warner Cable Channel 15, in Trumbull County): The Youngstown Warren Chapter of the Black Nurses Association will hold its annual scholarship brunch May 10 at the Brentford House in Hubbard. Chairman Brenda Averhart and Lynn Veal from the organization will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the event and issues that affect the community regarding health, specifically for minorities.

Next, Atty. Bonnie Deustch Burdman of the Youngstown Jewish Federation will introduce Noa and Daniel Tessler, newlyweds from Israel who are spending their honeymoon in Youngstown as missionaries to teach in the Jewish Day School. Additionally, they will share information on Israel’s 60th anniversary and Jewish American Heritage Month.

Finally, Helen Paes and Dr. Sheryl Figliano will discuss the upcoming ATHENA Awards program and presentation on May 22. Both women are former ATHENA Award recipients.
