LIBERTY
April 26
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a home in the 4700 block of Logan Way via the garage and took roughly $10,000 worth of copper piping and damaged a chair.
Theft: A couple who owns a horse farm off Logan Way suspected a man, age 26 to 29, of taking coins, a portable global positioning system device, motorcycle parts and other property. The loss was estimated at $2,873.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 4000 block of Madison Avenue found damage to his front door’s deadbolt lock.
Misuse of a credit card: An Anderson-Morris Road woman checked her account online and noticed a $202 purchase she never made.
Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to a 42-year-old Youngstown man’s being charged with one count of failure to appear in court to face drug charges.
Arrest: Authorities took custody of a Youngstown man, 40, wanted on a warrant from the Girard Municipal Court charging him with probation violation.
Arrest: Police arrested a 20-year-old Youngstown man after pulling him over on state Route 304. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Drugs: Two Youngstown men, 19 and 20, were cited on charges of possession of marijuana as part of a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. A small amount of suspected marijuana was in the car, the report said.
Theft: Police arrested a 38-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after she was accused of trying to return 22 items to Aldi, 3497 Belmont Ave., that she never bought at the store.
Arrest: Officers responded to a domestic situation at a James Lane residence, where they arrested a Youngstown woman, 30, on a warrant from Sharon, Pa., charging her with family neglect.
Auto theft: A worker with a Belmont Avenue business reported the theft of her 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity.
April 27
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Frederick Street woman reported an acquaintance took her 1994 Ford vehicle without permission.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive saw that someone tossed a rock, breaking a bedroom window and causing $50 worth of damage.
Assault: A Trumbull Court woman alleged a Youngstown man, 35, punched her in the face as she entered an apartment building in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue.
April 28
Bad check: A worker for Penguin Check Cashing, 3233 Belmont Ave., told police a 30-year-old New Castle, Pa., woman tried to cash a $3,100 check he felt was fraudulent.
Theft: A man discovered someone entered a newly built residence in the 4600 block of Michigan Avenue and took copper water pipes and fittings, resulting in a $4,000 loss.
Possible breaking and entering: Officers found a broken front-door window to a residence in the 4700 block of Vienna Avenue after having received a report about a 37-year-old Poland woman’s being inside who was not supposed to be there.
Auto theft: Police took two 26-year-old Youngstown men into custody in the 4000 block of Belmont Avenue on charges of receiving stolen property after employees of a nearby eatery said the men arrived in a suspicious vehicle later determined to have been stolen in Boardman.
April 30
Menacing: A worker for Wendy’s, 4001 Belmont Ave., told police a 19-year-old former employee challenged the worker to a fight after having been terminated and implied she would harm the employer’s vehicle.
Vehicle theft: A Girard man who owns property in the 6100 block of Belmont Avenue reported a Honda vehicle and aluminum siding missing.

April 28
Burglary: Someone broke into a vacant East Howard Avenue home through a rear door before removing $500 worth of copper pipes.
Arrest: A Leavittsburg man, 38, faced charges of falsification, driving under suspension and having fictitious license plates after being pulled over on U.S. Route 422. The man used his brother’s name and Social Security number, police said.
April 29
Theft: A customer stole a $65 bottle of tanning lotion from Tropitan Tanning Center, 515 N. State St.
Theft: A Gordon Street man discovered a $1,500 ring and a .380-caliber firearm missing from his home.
Arrest: A Girard man, 55, was taken into custody near a North Randolph Avenue home on charges of criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after police reported seeing in the driveway a suspicious truck containing scrap. Officers had to use pepper spray after stopping the man because he became belligerent and refused to cooperate, the report showed.
Assault: A Maple Avenue woman alleged her estranged 51-year-old mother came to the accuser’s home uninvited and grabbed the daughter by the wrist and tried to pull her out through a door.
April 30
Criminal mischief: An Iowa Avenue man noticed someone tossed toilet paper onto his front porch.
Theft: An East Broadway Avenue woman called police after someone ransacked her mother’s vehicle and took a coat, medications and roughly 150 compact discs.
May 1
Menacing: A Taylor Avenue woman reported a man threatened over the phone to harm her and a friend, who is the man’s former girlfriend.
HUBBARD
April 28
Theft: A Taylor Street woman reported a box of bank checks stolen from her residence.
Identity theft: A Canfield woman told police the identity of her deceased father was used at a West Liberty Street business.
Theft: A woman visiting a North Main Street doctor’s office discovered her cell phone missing.
April 29
Criminal damaging: Someone tried to cut part of a fence belonging to a utility department on West Liberty Street.
April 30
Damage: Someone called police after a front window at Nemenz IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St., appeared to have been broken.
Theft: A garbage can was stolen from a home in the 300 block of Erie Street.
May 1
Possible breaking and entering: An employee with La Bella Vita Salon Day Spa, 250 W. Liberty St., reported seeing damage to a rear door, possibly the result of someone having tried to enter.
Arrest: Officers arrested a Hubbard man during a traffic stop on U.S. Route 62 after finding out he was wanted on a charge of failure to pay income taxes.
