Warren man pleads guilty to burglaries
STAFF REPORT
WARREN — A 29-year-old Warren man pleaded guilty to involvement in a string of burglaries that took place over two years.
Jason Kirkpatrick pleaded guilty Thursday before Judge John M. Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas court to 16 counts of breaking and entering and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. A pre-sentencing report was ordered.
Kirkpatrick; Aaron Toole, 29, also of Warren; and James Hunsbarger, 28, of Campbell; were indicted in November for their involvement in what police said at the time was as many as 30 burglaries of commercial businesses in the Mahoning Valley during 2006 and early 2007.
Police recovered several safes taken from the businesses. They also seized tools, scanners, headbands with attached lighting, a list of police radio frequencies, handcuffs, binoculars and miscellaneous jewelry.
Toole pleaded guilty in December in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to 15 counts of breaking and entering and one count of receiving stolen property. He is scheduled for sentencing May 19 before Judge John M. Stuard.
Hunsbarger pleaded guilty in October in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to two counts of breaking and entering. He was placed on probation for two years.
The case was investigated by the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.
