Dann Live: Events of night in AG’s apartment detailed

The results of an internal investigation into sexual harassment alleged at the Ohio Attorney General’s office were released this morning. They detail the events of Sept. 10, at an apartment shared by Attorney General Marc Dann, his chief of staff Leo Jennings and Anthony Gutierrez, general services director.

Statements were taken from all present that evening. Findings were detailed by Ben Espy, executive assistant attorney general.

Stankowski was invited by Dann to the condo for drinks and Hawaiian pizza.

Stankowski text messaged a co-worker, saying she felt ill and believed she was in a strange situation. She went to lay down on Gutierrez’ bed.

Gutierres said he never got on the bed, but sat in a chair and watched TV while she was sleeping. The next morning, he got up, took a shower and brought her back downtown to get her keys.

Facts established there was drinking, she was a fairly intoxicated state employee. “But we could not prove by the evidence that there was any pants unbuttoned or unzipped. Ms. Stankowski said that happened, Mr. Gutierrez denied it,” Espy said.

“Between September and March we could find no one in the office who had heard the story about the pants being unbuttoned.”
