South Side man gets 3-year prison term for domestic violence

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who was convicted of domestic violence in a jury trial last week has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Judge Timothy E. Franken of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court imposed the sentence today on Donte Mauldin, 25, who was convicted of beating his live-in girlfriend with his fists Feb. 1 in the West Philadelphia Avenue residence they shared. Mauldin had two prior domestic violence convictions.

The prison sentencing range available to Judge Franken for Mauldin’s third domestic violence offense was one to five years.
