Not much to go on in Youngstown shooting death
YOUNGSTOWN — City police have neither suspects nor a motive in the shooting death Wednesday of Marcus Drummond, 42, of 642 Manchester Ave.
Capt. Kenneth Centorame said, however, Drummond’s death is being treated as a homicide after a preliminary examination by a medical examiner determined he had been shot in the back of the head. Police believe the victim, who Centorame said has no criminal record, had been dead for several hours when he was found by an acquaintance at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. The acquaintance had last talked to Drummond about 24 hours earlier.
The acquaintance found Drummond lying in a pool of blood on the floor of the kitchen of a house in which he lived alone. Centorame said police found no forced entry to the house and that nothing had been disturbed, leading them to believe that no struggle occurred. Neither were a weapon or shell casings found in the house.
