Washington, D.C., trip

Nearly 100 Fitch students, including 50 members of a Freedom Writers class, leave for the nation’s capital this evening. Their planned itinerary:

Today

11:30 p.m., leave the high school by chartered bus.

Friday

6 a.m., arrive in Washington, D.C., and have breakfast at Union Square. The students will visit the Capitol, memorials and the White House.

Noon, visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum where a Holocaust survivor will share her story with the students.

Evening, dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe before returning home.
