Protestant Family Service gets grant

YOUNGSTOWN — Protestant Family Service has received a $5,534 grant from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley for capital improvements to upgrade the computer system and provide adequate and efficient workspace in the reception area. Protestant Family Service, 496 Glenwood Ave., is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency help to those facing utility shutoff or eviction, obtaining life-sustaining medication, and other crisis situations. The agency relies on donations from individuals, churches/church groups, organizations, fundraisers throughout the year and grants to continue its ministry in our community. The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, which effectively assist and promote the well-being of Mahoning and Trumbull county residents.
