Painting and resurfacing

The Ohio Department of Transportation has awarded A.P. O’Horo Co. of Youngstown a $5.7 million contract for four bridge projects in Mahoning County:

New Road bridge over state Route 11 will close April 7 as work commences.

Western Reserve Road bridge work in Canfield Township could start as early as June.

Kirk Road bridge work in Austintown could begin as early as August.

Mahoning Avenue bridge over Route 11 in Austintown will start after the other three projects are done — as early as late summer or as late as November. This project also includes widening and the addition of turn lanes, a sidewalk and vandalism fence, and will take about nine months.

All four bridges will be raised between three and five inches to meet requirements that the bridges provide a 15-foot clearance.
