State St., has the following activities available this week: Monday, bridge at 10 a.m., arthritis exercise program at 11, cards and quilting and sewing at 1 p.m., and cards, games and food from 4 to 8 p.m., cost is $2; Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 ($3 for members and $4 for guests), cards and 500 tournament at 1 p.m. (preregistration required), program on birds, bugs and butterflies at 1, and pinochle and other card games and blood pressure screening at 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, AARP income-tax filing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m, tai chi at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30 ($3 for members and $4 for guests), bingo and Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m., and cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 ( $3 for members and $4 for guests), pinochle and bridge at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 2.; and Friday, AARP income-tax filing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (last day is April 11), movie at 9 a.m., arthritis exercise and physical therapy at 11, soup and sandwich lunch for members ($3) at 11:30, corn hole games at noon, and cards and games and chorus practice at 1 p.m. Also planned is a reverse mortgage seminar at noon April 9. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, basic Spanish class at 1 p.m. and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., exercise at noon, and square dancing and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. The center, in conjunction with AARP, will offer free tax assistance for those 60 and older from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Fridays until April 11. Call for an appointment. Home Energy Assistance Program applications are available at the center.
