Tabitha Fiorenza, 7, of Struthers will someday need a heart transplant. She is on the “B” list for a heart at the Cleveland Clinic, which means her heart is weak but her need is not yet critical. Transplant centers use categories “A” and “B”, along with numbers, such as 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 to determine the patients most in need. The most critical is 1A.
LifeBanc, with headquarters in Cleveland, is the federally designated nonprofit organ procurement and tissue recovery agency for 20 counties in Northeast Ohio.
