X OXFORD — After a honeymoon at St. Lucia, Joseph Deaton and his bride, the former Adrienne Shears, live at 3252 N. Southport Ave., Chicago.

The couple were married Dec. 1, 2007, during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Fred Shaw in Kumler Chapel at Miami University and were honored during a reception at Shriver Center, also at the university.

Parents of the bride are Terry and Patricia Shears, 7765 Silver Fox Drive, Boardman. The groom is a son of Randy and Kathy Horne, 1731 Resor Road, Fairfield.

Beading enhanced the waistline of the bride’s strapless gown of antique white satin, and the skirt swept to a trumpet-style train.

Aubergine gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Kristen Koenig and Kim Castiglione, and the bridesmaids, Gena Deaton, Elizabeth Hammer, Sabina Jenkins, Melissa Mueller, Kristen O’Connor, Aimee Phan and Brooke Purdo. Flower girl was Alexis Stoops. Also participating was Livia Fischer.

Aaron Horne was best man, and groomsmen were Adam Close, Kelly Davis, Ben Helmers, Tom Jameson, Andy Jenkins, Kevin Mueller, Andy Niehus and Matt Shears.

The bride and groom graduated from Miami University with bachelor’s degrees, hers in graphic design and his in marketing. She is a senior art director at Draftfcb in Chicago, and he is a senior account executive with DHL in Chicago.
