VIENNA — The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport kicked off a sales promotion involving companies using flights on Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air as part of an employee-incentive program.

John Masternick, a member of the Western Reserve Port Authority, which runs the airport, said Friday the airline has been successful with its twice-weekly flights between the local airport and the Sanford International Airport near Orlando, Fla.

But companies like his, Windsor House Inc. of Girard, can benefit from its partnership with Allegiant while helping the airport grow, Masternick added.

Windsor House purchased Allegiant flights to Florida to give to Windsor employees in recent years and decided the idea should be shared with other Mahoning Valley businesses, Masternick said.

Another aspect of the program is for retailers and other businesses to reward their customers by offering them credits toward reduced or free flights and services such as hotel rooms and car rentals through Allegiant.

The program is called “Project Business Alliance” and is being promoted by the Liberty marketing company Rubenstein Associates and is being coordinated by Carlson Wagonlit Travel of Boardman.

To participate, call (330) 759-4570 or go online at www.rewardandfly.com.

Allegiant offers flights to Sanford on Mondays and Fridays. Flights arrive from Florida at 6:40 p.m. and return to Florida at 7:15 p.m.

Prices in April range from $59 to $184 each way. Flights and other services can be booked on the Allegiant Web site at www.allegiantair.com.
