3 men charged in stripping of city house


YOUNGSTOWN — Police have charged three men with stripping a vacant home, and two others for drug offenses after receiving a call that a house was being stripped.

Police charged three men after they were caught stripping aluminum siding off a house at 707 Dewey Ave. at 9:54 a.m. Thursday.

Charged were Ricky Charlton, 51, of East Dewey; Ricky Paige, 47, of Woodland Avenue; and Charles Paige Jr., 49, of Rosewood Avenue.

Police said a citizen said she saw the three pull the siding from a house and load it into a car. Police found the car at the South Avenue Gas Mart and discovered the car’s trunk was full of siding. Each man was charged with unauthorized removal.

At 4:21 p.m. Thursday, police reporting to a call about homes being stripped stopped two men at 321 E. Dewey.

Police said they noticed a needle in the men’s vehicle, searched them and found suspected heroin.

Joseph Duane, 54, of West Chalmers Avenue, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon for a .38-caliber revolver found in a bag, possession of drugs and possessing drug instruments.

Michael L. Green Sr., 48, who gave his address as the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possession of drugs.
