Club Calendar: Area groups plan events


AUXILIARIES

• Flora McDonald Auxiliary will meet for dessert at 1 p.m. April 5 at the home of Mary St. Clair.

CLASSES

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will meet at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails.

• Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s on Route 224, Boardman. Guests are welcome.

CLUBS

• American Hungarian Club, Donald Avenue, Youngstown, will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the clubhouse. Members will discuss the chicken paprikash dinner and stuffed cabbage rolls sale, both planned in April.

• Poland Center Homemakers will meet for a casserole luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Poland United Methodist Church. Hostesses are Jo Amendolea and Agnes Filip. Members are asked to take something for show and tell and an item for children’s charity (soap, toothpaste, paper items, etc.).

• Seton III will meet for a noon luncheon Thursday at the MVR, Walnut Street, Youngstown. Claire Maluso, director of events for the city of Youngstown, will speak about Youngstown 2010. Hostesses are Sue Johnson, chairwoman, and Catherine Coyle, Tina McCormick, Lenore Nagle, Kathryn O’Hara, Angie Phillipone and Mary West.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

• Friends of the Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday for coffee in the library meeting room before the 10 a.m. business meeting. The program will be “Form and Function: The Beauty of Glass” by Jessica Trickett, manager of collections and curatorial services at the Arms Family Museum of Local History. Book and magazine donations are needed for the book cart fundraiser.

POLITICAL CLUBS

• Warren Republican Women’s Club will meet at noon Thursday at DiLucia’s Restaurant on Elm Road, Warren. The cost for the luncheon is $12, and reservations can be made at (330) 856-4659. Plans will be finalized for an April 17 card party and a June garage sale.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Holy Name of Jesus Ladies Guild will meet at noon Tuesday at Founders Hall. The hostess will be Dawn Price.

• D.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed or separated people, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road.
