E. Liverpool man shot
NEWELL, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia sheriff says an East Liverpool man was wounded by a gunman who then killed himself at a plant where industrial seals and gauges are made. Hancock County Sheriff Mike White says 36-year-old Joseph Ebert of East Liverpool was shot several times in the shoulder Monday as he escorted Adam Farmer out of the Marsh Bellofram plant in Newell, in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle. White says Farmer then turned the gun on himself.
Farmer was fired from the plant two years ago. The sheriff says he believes a domestic dispute involving an estranged girlfriend brought Farmer back to the plant and sparked Monday’s violence. Marsh Bellafrom officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
