Two arrested in Youngstown’s latest murder

YOUNGSTOWN — A man and woman arrested in the shooting death of 18-year-old Demar L. Flores of Eliot Lane were expected to be arraigned today in municipal court. Sarah Beck, 37, is charged with murder and aggravated robbery and Hassan G. Merriweather, 22, is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery. Both were arrested over the weekend. They had been living at 54 Rutledge Drive, where Flores was shot multiple times in the driveway on March 17. The house on Rutledge was burned the day after the homicide. Capt. Kenneth Centorame, chief of detectives, said a third suspect, Charles E. Smith Jr., 29, of East Florida Avenue is being sought on charges of murder and aggravated robbery.
