Auction to be fundraiser for the Rescue Mission

Patrons will have an opportunity to bid on such things as jewelry, artwork and getaways.

LIBERTY — Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley will host its 10th annual auction April 4 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a silent auction, samplings from menus of local restaurants, and a live auction.

Basinger Auction Services will begin the auction at approximately 7:30 p.m. Bids will be accepted for such items as platinum and diamond jewelry, vacation rentals, Allegiant Air round-trip tickets, Disney World Hopper passes, archery packages from MillTree Outdoors, and a Something New Florist consultation and products for a wedding or special event.

Among the area businesses providing foods for guests to sample will be Blue Wolf Bakery, Caballo Bayo, Charlie Staples Bar-B-Q, Cold Stone Creamery-Liberty, Olive Garden, Piccadilly Parlour, Springfield Grille, The Fifth Season and the MetroPlex.

Hosts the event will be personalities from WFMJ, WKBN and WYTV.

Volunteers forming the 2008 auction planning committee are MaryLou Blasko, Beky Davis, Georgia Evich, Anna Howells, Mary Staffrey, Gail Stark, Kathy Stinson, Marisa Volpini, Rick Volpini, Judy Whittenberger and Laura York.
