Records Request: Salem City Council
Here’s a list of all the materials sought by Columbiana County Republican Party Chairman David Johnson:
A copy of the “homework” referenced under the heading “Rules Ordinances” in the “Record of Minutes and Proceedings” of the regular Salem City Council meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, in council chambers, with Clyde Brown presiding; all notes, work papers, phone records, e-mail (including personal computer e-mail if any relate to this subject) and all other related communications referenced in these minutes regarding the “information obtained from talks with mayors and city managers in their communities”; the specific assignments given by the Rules Ordinances Committee Chairman to each respective member of Salem City Council. He asks specifically for dates, times and names of who Brown called; who Dan Nye called; and who Mary Ann Dzuracky called … and all copies of their notes pertaining to these calls.
Any phone records, communications, e-mails and/or related work documents pertaining specifically to Dan Nye’s public statements, made in open session of Salem City Council [on] March, 18, 2008, that he in fact spoke with the mayor of Alliance on the matter of the position of the Salem City Council “safety service investigation.” In the absence of any contemporaneous records, Johnson wants in writing, the approximate dates and times of the three phone conversations that Nye represented at the March 18 council meeting he had with the mayor of Alliance.
Any records, work documents, e-mails and/or related communications by, with, from or to Councilman Justin Palmer relating to Salem City Council’s Rules & Ordinances Committee work pertaining to Ordinance No. 080102-03 [that eliminated the safety director’s post.]
A copy of the Salem police and fire departments’ current standard operating procedures and the dates that they were last updated.
A copy of the transcript from the Salem City Council meeting of March 18, 2008.
