Warren man faces charges and warrant for his arrest

The warrant was issued for Shaun Evans after he failed to show up for court.

WARREN — Shaun Evans didn’t come close to having any luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.

By the end of Monday, Evans faced five charges, was taken to Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital to get two Taser barbs pulled from this chest, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Patrol Officer T.A. Brown reported he was working the Operating a Vehicle while Impaired Task Force on Youngstown Road about 7 p.m. Monday when he noticed a car nearly collide with three other vehicles while weaving through traffic.

As Brown followed, he reported he saw the car nearly swerve off the road where three children were playing. The driver then pulled the car into the driveway of his Brier Street home. Brown found that Evans had moved from the driver’s seat to the back seat.

Evans wouldn’t come out of the car, and when Brown grabbed his coat, Evans took it off, fled inside the house and wouldn’t come out, the report said. When police went inside the house, Evans was emerging from the basement.

Brown reported that when Evans wouldn’t cooperate during the arrest, the officer pulled his Taser and fired at Brown, sending him onto the living room floor.

When he became uncooperative with paramedics who were attempted to remove the two Taser barbs in his chest, he was taken to the hospital so Brown could be disconnected.

Brown, 19, was charged with failure to comply with the order of a police officer, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, driving under a suspended license and driving under the influence.

Brown was released Tuesday morning on a $9,000 bond. When he failed to return to court later in the morning for arraignment, Judge Terry Ivanchak issued a warrant for his arrest.
